Every pair is handmade to our specifications by our artisan partners from a choice of pink marble or white onyx that are respectively reminiscent of strawberry ice cream and a lovely winter moon. This miniature size is ideal for grinding spices, herbs or for crushing medications both at and away from home.
Due to the nature of this organic material, every piece is one-of-a-kind. Cracks, holes and variations in hue and markings are common.
Artisans
This artisan family in Central Mexico has been working with stone for over three generations. While they make smaller custom pieces for our collection, their specialty has traditionally been larger sculptural works, along with sinks and counters for custom homes. While this particular stone is from Puebla, they source their materials throughout Mexico for a range of textures, hues and styles.

Care
For best care results, this set should be washed by hand. If you will be using this piece for food service, wash thoroughly with soap and hot water before usage. To season the set, grind a small handful of white rice into the piece. Do not clean this set in the dishwasher.
